The Natural World Sharks, Rays Whales Dolphins

Why not plan to do a bit of Whale and Dolphin Watching? The Azores are an affordable way to start - Sperm, Fin, Sei, and Humpback Whales and many species of Dolphins.

Striped Dolphins - Stenella coeruleoalba travelling at speed - Hunting. Filmed in the Azores which is an amazing place to spot Marine Mammals, including Sperm, Fin, Sei and Pilot Whales, as well as Atlantic Spotted, Common Bottlenose and Risso’s Dolphins. Lot’s of wind noise and splashing - but adds to the atmosphere.

Not a log! But a very small baby sperm whale, part of the resident pod in the Azores. He surfaced right next to the Zodiac - probably confusing us with his mum. She later came to collect him. The Azores have a resident female and young pod, serviced by visiting Males who cruise past the island.
