The Travel Museum is a privately owned collection dedicated to Exploration, Travel and Adventure. The collection is for the public to enjoy and to both educate and challenge. The Travel Museum Charter is a pledge to preserve the collection for future generations to come to tell the story of expeditions, travel and adventure from the 1960’s to the current day, to both inspire and bring to the attention the fragile nature of the planets ecosystems and fellow creatures that share this amazing bio diverse world of ours.

The Travel Museum Charter

  • To provide a collection of travel related artefacts, stories, and visual media for the enjoyment of the public

  • To provide a repository for the “Traveler” collection and future artefact contributors

  • To further education, knowledge and appreciation of this amazing planet of ours.

  • To conserve repair and keep the collection in good order for future generations to enjoy.

  • To tell the stories and adventures of travellers.

  • To promote global appreciation of the Biomes*, Oceans and water systems together with their amazing biodiversity.

  • To promote understanding and tolerance of cultural differences, whilst at the same time celebrating those differences.

  • To provide a resource of information for research for students, teachers and anyone interested in the collection.

  • To evolve and keep the museum contemporary.

  • To understand and bring to the attention the environmental issues our planet is facing.

  • To be challenging, informative and fun!

  • To further education, knowledge and appreciation of this amazing planet of ours.

  • To never sell any artefacts without prior consent from the donator or their families.

*Biomes is the name for the climatic zones of the planet. The world's major land biomes include tropical rain forest, tropical dry forest, tropical savanna, desert, temperate grassland, temperate woodland and scrubland, temperate forest, northwestern coniferous forest, boreal forest, and tundra. We also add the polar regions of Arctic and Antarctic.
