FAQs
What is the Travel Club?
The Travel Museum Travel Club TTM-TC is there to recognise YOUR travel achievements, put you in contact with like minder travellers (if you want to) and to set challenges and new goals for you to chase. It is fun, adventurous and without limits! You will have access to unique Travel Museum - Travel Club merchandise, (only available to members) certificates of achievement, patches, badges, luggage tags and much more to show your travel credentials. With a dedicated section only accessible to Club Members it will give you a unique insight into the world of travel and tips and hints which we hope you’ll find invaluable.
How do I join?
When we are set up you can join online via our shop which we hope will be coming soon. March 2023. The costs and sections will all be on the shop website. We have different levels (see below) for your travel experience and an entry level for those getting started. You will have to fill in a form to show where you have been for most levels.. For a few levels you can only join in person (when we have home). This is for verification, although we may be able to waive this for certain conditions that may prevent you from being able to get to us.
Can anyone Join?
Yes, provided you meet the criteria of a number of countries travelled, and if you don’t you can always join as an “Galapagos Member,” which is open to anyone with an interest in travel. We also have a Juniors section, called “Rising Stars” so the whole family can join in, as well as sections for the more serious, dedicated traveller and explorer.
You mentioned number of countries - how many?
For the Junior level it starts at 5 countries and territories from the TTM Travel Club list. Our Unique list is based on the World Map and includes difficult to get to places such as the North and South Poles, Crozet Islands and Nunavut as unique destinations. We also have special awards for our challenges such as “The Big Five” African Animals or “The Big Five” Waterfalls challenge, include Angel Falls, Victoria and Iguaçu falls. For seniors it starts at 25 countries, but if you’re not there yet, you can always join as a Rising Star or Galapagos Member. There are no age limits!
What’s special about your club?
Number 1 it’s not our club - it is your club! All the proceeds go to the help keep the museum funded and to put new items on display. You will have access to unique travel stories and adventure and for children (and adults!) the adventures of “Cowlett and Pigletlet” our erstwhile travelling companions, who have themselves visited over 50 countries, so they might have a story or two to tell.. In addition to all the benefits listed above, we hope to do some “guest” speakers and unique offerings. We’ll keep you posted. In the mean time enjoy the website and be patient. We are but a small crew and these things take time. You can find some of the member sections anticipated below.
